2. SHOPIFY 2.0
Shopify 2.0 is a set of features and feature improvements that make themes easier to build, more flexible, and more maintainable.
Shopify 2.0 introduces a new JSON template format that lets you add new and existing sections to most pages in your theme, and add and remove sections from any page directly in the Shopify theme editor.
This feature lets merchants personalize many more aspects of a store without relying on a developer.
3. JSON TEMPLATE
JSON templates are data files with the .json file extension. These templates let you easily populate your template with content from sections. Sections can be added, removed, or rearranged by merchants through the theme editor.
When a page is rendered with a JSON template, the sections are rendered in the order specified by the order attribute. There’s no markup between the sections. Although JSON templates differ from Liquid templates in their contents, they are still template files that support all normal feature.
You can add additional section in JSON template. As image below, you can see that you can add new section in Product page.
